I Thirst – Via Crucis 2017

This series was inspired by the Via Crucis tradition, 14 Station s of the Cross. Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion. One of the statements that Jesus makes while on the cross is “I thirst” (John 19:28). These words manifest the humanity of Jesus as he expresses his own suffering. The figures in the drawings are intertwined and twisted around and nested. The rubberized areas create a grueling impression on the paper. 14 drawings in the series are 30 x 30 cm in size.
